We see Rwenzori Rainmakers as more than a film, but as a powerful tool to safeguard Uganda’s Rwenzori region and other mountainous landscapes across Africa. By showcasing a successful community-led reforestation and rewilding model, the film offers hope and a blueprint for change. As the world accelerates efforts towards climate neutrality, this model also shows how creative rural enterprises can lead the way in climate action.
With our impact campaign, The Rain Starts With Us, we aim to inspire similar efforts in communities facing climate threats. Through screenings, environmental and art community workshops, and hands on tree planting drives, our campaign will create spaces where story becomes action, right there and then. The campaign will not only raise climate change awareness but also equip communities with practical knowledge, seedlings, and the connections they need to build their own restoration movements.
Our theory of change is simple, when people are given access to relatable role models and practical steps that they can follow, they will take action.
